THE BACK STORY:
Everyone buying or selling a home has a different story—and Chris Johnson is listening to every word.
After more than a decade in the bar industry and 20 years managing operations for a national advertising firm, Chris has learned that the secret to creating a great client experience is paying attention to what people say—and what they don’t. It’s a lesson that’s proven just as relevant in real estate, where he makes it his business to listen, then do everything he can to lighten his client’s load.
“For buyers, it’s about being on their side and offering guidance so there are no surprises,” Chris says. “For sellers, it’s about understanding why they’re selling and what they need to get out of it. Sometimes it means telling people what they don’t want to hear, but in the end they’re thankful for my honesty.”
Chris is Trust’s neighbourhood specialist for Upper Beaches and East York, an area he’s lived in for more than 10 years. The restaurants, craft breweries, shopping, festivals and proximity to the water are big plusses, as is being able to walk and take transit everywhere, but what he really appreciates is the sense of community.
“I love taking my girls to the markets. Playing Saturday morning shinny. Closing the street down for a party. Meeting up with friends for a pint,” Chris says. “It’s about connecting with each other and lending a hand.”
